CDL Instructor – Flexible Local Hours | Manhattan, KS | $26–35/hr + Referral Bonuses IWS Trucking is hiring an experienced CDL driver to join our training team as a part-time CDL Instructor in the Columbus / Aurora, NE area. You've spent years mastering the road - now put that experience to work teaching the next generation of professional drivers, on a schedule that works around you. This is not a diploma mill. We run a stringent, proven curriculum, we hold students to professional standards, and our graduates leave confident, tested, and ready to drive for a living. ABOUT THE ROLE Train assigned students in semi-private sessions - 3 students max, so you can actually teach Teach manual transmission skills on our trucks (yes, we still teach stick - most schools don't) Follow our structured curriculum - it's proven, it's required, and we'll get you fluent in it Uphold our standards: attendance requirements, anti-cheating policies, and safety protocols Report directly to our Head of Training WHAT WE PROVIDE The trucks The curriculum The students - assigned to you, no sales or recruiting duties required A professional training environment where quality actually matters REQUIREMENTS Valid CDL (Class A preferred) Clean driving record - no exceptions Real commercial driving experience Manual transmission proficiency Patient, coachable, and professional - you remember what it was like not knowing, and you like being the one who fixes that COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE $26-35/hour starting rate - higher for exceptional experience Pay review at 90 days with your first increase, then annually - your rate climbs as you prove it Up to $500 per student in referral commissions when someone you refer enrolls Flexible scheduling - trainees are assigned around your availability Hours vary with enrollment - this role is ideal for a current driver picking up extra local hours, a semi-retired pro staying in the game, or anyone who wants strong pay without a rigid schedule Serious applicants only - our students deserve that much.
