Duties Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on topics such as traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, FMCSA standards, and safe driving practices. Conduct hands-on training for commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operation, manual transmission handling, air brake systems, and tanker vehicle operation. Supervise behind-the-wheel training sessions, ensuring students develop proficiency in vehicle control, maneuvering large trucks safely and confidently. Assess student progress through evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance their driving skills and knowledge. Maintain detailed records of training activities, student performance, and compliance with all safety standards. Ensure all instruction aligns with current industry regulations and best practices for commercial driving education. Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students to excel while emphasizing safety and professionalism. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL license, including endorsements for tanker and air brake systems. Demonstrated expertise in tractor-trailer operation, manual transmissions, and bus driving. Strong knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and traffic laws applicable to commercial vehicles. Prior experience in commercial driving instruction or adult education is highly preferred. Ability to effectively teach classroom curriculum related to trucking safety, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage adult learners in both classroom and practical settings. Valid certifications in truck driving, including FMCSA compliance standards; additional certifications in tanker or bus driving are advantageous.
