Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across OTR routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight such as hazardous materials, dangerous goods, refrigerated cargo, or specialty loads like tanker or flatbed shipments with manual handling techniques. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing routes for fuel efficiency and safety. Transport automobile transportation loads securely and deliver freight accurately to designated locations across regional or national routes. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition, ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining detailed logs of vehicle maintenance needs. Load & unload cargo carefully, managing logistics cargo handling processes to prevent damage or loss during transit. Maintain clear communication with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation. Hands-on experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized trucking equipment preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and DOT safety standards. Demonstrated ability to handle hazardous or dangerous goods safely and in compliance with all safety protocols. Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning and real-time tracking during deliveries. Experience in truck loading and unloading procedures involving freight handling equipment such as forklifts or manual methods. Valid CDL license with endorsements relevant to the type of cargo transported; Hazmat certification is a plus but not mandatory for all roles.
