CDL Fuel Transport Driver – Propane & Distillates

McLaughlin's Energy Services – Waynesboro, PA Seasonal Full-Time | October–April Afternoon/Evening Shift | Approximately 12:00 PM–11:00 PM Job Description McLaughlin's Energy Services is seeking an experienced and dependable CDL Fuel Transport Driver to join our team for the heating season, typically October through April . This position is primarily responsible for transporting liquid propane (LP) and distillate fuels, including heating oil , from regional fuel terminals back to our bulk storage facilities. Unlike a residential delivery position, this role is focused primarily on transport driving, terminal loading, and bulk fuel unloading . The ideal candidate will be an experienced CDL driver who is comfortable operating tractor-trailer tanker equipment and working independently during the afternoon and evening hours. Previous propane transport experience is a major plus, but it is not required. We are most interested in finding a safe, dependable, experienced CDL driver with the right qualifications and willingness to learn our fuel transportation operations. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailer fuel transport equipment Transport liquid propane and distillate fuels from regional terminals to company bulk storage facilities Load product at fuel and propane terminals following terminal procedures Safely unload fuel into company bulk storage tanks Properly connect and disconnect hoses and fuel transfer equipment Follow all DOT, Hazmat, terminal, and company safety procedures Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain accurate bills of lading, loading tickets, delivery records, and driver documentation Verify correct products, quantities, and storage locations before unloading Monitor transport equipment and immediately report maintenance or safety concerns Communicate with dispatch and management regarding loads, terminal availability, delays, and inventory needs Maintain a safe and professional work environment at terminals and company facilities Safely operate during winter weather and changing road conditions Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Hazmat endorsement Tanker endorsement Acceptable motor vehicle record Ability to meet applicable DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing requirements Experience operating tractor-trailer equipment Ability to safely operate tanker equipment in varying road and winter weather conditions Ability to work independently and manage assigned loads and schedules Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with connecting, disconnecting, and handling fuel transfer hoses and equipment Ability to reliably commute to Waynesboro, PA 17268 Highly Preferred Previous liquid propane (LP) transport experience Previous petroleum or distillate fuel transport experience Experience loading at fuel or propane terminals Experience operating tanker trailers Familiarity with bulk plant loading and unloading procedures LP experience is a significant advantage, but we encourage experienced CDL Class A tanker drivers to apply even if they have not previously transported propane. Training can be provided to the right candidate. Schedule This position is designed to cover the second half of our daily transportation schedule .
