If you've got experience with heavy haul, oversized permit loads, or tactical/heavy military vehicles, we want to talk to you. Responsibilities Operate heavy-duty winch trucks and tractor-trailers to transport oversized loads, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods, across diverse routes. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA, and hazardous materials regulations during all phases of transportation. Load and unload freight safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and delivery schedules. Secure loads properly on flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery status, or safety concerns. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on heavy haul, or flatbed operations. Demonstrated knowledge of logistics cargo handling and load & unload procedures for freight of various types. Experience operating manual transmission trucks. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to driver hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols. Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving across diverse terrains and conditions. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for cargo handling or loading/unloading processes.
