CDL Driver Recruiter

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Driver Recruiter to support our growing trucking and logistics operations. This position is responsible for identifying, recruiting, qualifying, and helping onboard professional CDL drivers while maintaining an active pipeline of candidates for current and future hiring needs. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who understands the trucking industry, can build relationships with drivers, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced recruiting environment. Responsibilities Recruit qualified CDL drivers for OTR, regional, local, and specialized driving opportunities. Source candidates through Indeed, social media, job boards, referrals, existing applicant databases, and direct outreach. Communicate with prospective drivers by phone, text, email, and other recruiting channels. Screen applicants for driving experience, CDL qualifications, work history, and basic hiring requirements. Clearly explain pay, routes, home time, equipment, freight, benefits, and position expectations to candidates. Maintain consistent follow-up with applicants throughout the recruiting and hiring process. Coordinate with Safety, Operations, Dispatch, and HR to move qualified drivers through the hiring and onboarding process. Assist candidates with applications and required documentation. Maintain accurate recruiting records and track candidate activity and hiring progress. Develop and maintain an ongoing pipeline of qualified drivers. Build relationships with driving schools, industry contacts, referral sources, and other recruiting partners. Support driver retention by helping create a professional and positive candidate experience from the first conversation through onboarding. Assist with other recruiting and workforce needs as assigned. Qualifications Previous recruiting experience preferred. Trucking, transportation, logistics, or CDL driver recruiting experience strongly preferred. General understanding of CDL driver qualifications and DOT-regulated transportation is preferred. Strong phone, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage a high volume of candidates and follow-ups. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable using applicant tracking systems, Indeed, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other recruiting technology. Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with operations and management. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who can recruit candidates and will be comfortable talking with drivers every day, following up consistently, building trust, and keeping qualified candidates moving through the hiring process. Experience recruiting CDL-A drivers, OTR drivers, flatbed drivers, end-dump drivers, or other commercial drivers would be especially valuable.
