Pay: $27.15–$27.30 per hour, set by the Teamsters Local 202 Hunts Point Terminal Market Truck Driver contract. Tractor-Trailer (Class A): $27.30 per hour ($1,092 per 40-hour week) 10-Wheeler / Straight Truck (Class B): $27.15 per hour ($1,086 per 40-hour week) Night differential: an extra $5.00 per hour for all hours worked between 8:00 PM and 4:30 AM Overtime: time and one-half for hours over 8 in a day or 40 in a week Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour work week, five 8-hour days. Market hours: early-morning and overnight starts are common. Start time is set each week. Some weekend work may be required (paid per the union contract). Hunts Point is a night market. Union: This is a Teamsters Local 202 bargaining-unit job. Outside hires are welcome. You do not need to be a union member to apply. Union membership, dues, and benefit funds follow the Local 202 contract. New hires complete a 90-day probationary period. About us Nathel & Nathel is a family-owned, fourth-generation fresh produce wholesaler at the Hunts Point Terminal Market. Through Nathel Trucking we move fresh product from our docks to retailers, restaurants, and distributors across the region. We are always looking for reliable CDL drivers who can move refrigerated produce loads safely and on time, and who take care of the product and the customer. What you will do Drive assigned routes, delivering and picking up fresh produce between Hunts Point and customer locations. Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Keep DVIR, hours-of-service, and delivery paperwork accurate (electronic or paper). Load, unload, or help with palletized freight as needed. Secure loads and watch reefer temperature set points. Tell dispatch or the foreman about delays, refusals, damage, and customer issues. Represent the company professionally at customer docks. Follow food-safety and company safety rules. Keep a clean driving record and follow DOT / FMCSA rules. What we are looking for Valid commercial driver's license: Class A (tractor-trailer) or Class B (straight truck / 10-wheeler). Both are accepted. Clean driving record. Able to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug and alcohol testing. Reliable attendance on early-morning and overnight market schedules. A plus: reefer or food-distribution experience; Spanish/English bilingual. Essential functions (with or without reasonable accommodation) Sit for long periods; get in and out of the cab and trailer often; climb dock plates. Help move cases or pallets up to 50 lb when needed. Work in and around refrigerated trailers and cold docks (about 34–36°F). Work early-morning and overnight starts on outdoor docks in all weather.
