We’re looking for a skilled and safety-conscious CDL Driver to join our team and help us continue our tradition of excellence in service and delivery. What You’ll Do: As a CDL Driver , you’ll be responsible for delivering materials to job sites in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining the truck and equipment in top working condition. You’ll also be expected to work closely with the Yard Supervisor, other team members, and customers to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the truck and equipment in accordance with company guidelines. Safe Driving: Drive delivery truck over established routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials to job sites. Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and transport materials to and from customer locations. Customer Service: Treat customers with professionalism and courtesy, obtaining signatures for delivery or pickup. Maintenance & Safety: Perform regular maintenance checks on trucks and equipment, keeping them in good working order and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Inventory & Returns: Participate in inventory counts and assist with picking up returns and verifying materials. Training: Provide training and orientation to new drivers. Adherence to Safety Standards: Consistently adhere to all company safety policies, including wearing required PPE and following safety protocols. What We’re Looking For: Experience: Valid Ohio CDL License and previous truck driving experience preferred. Safe Driving: In-depth knowledge of traffic laws and the ability to drive safely under various conditions. Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift and move materials weighing more than 100 pounds regularly. Customer Service Skills: Ability to engage with customers professionally and resolve issues or complaints promptly. Team Player: Ability to work independently and with the team to ensure efficient and safe operations. Mechanical Aptitude: Experience with basic truck and equipment maintenance is a plus. Education or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 1-3 months of related driving experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Why Mentor Lumber?
