CDL DRIVER
KIMURAAbout the Role: This is a temporary position for approximately 1 month. The CDL Driver plays a critical role in the transportation and warehousing industry by safely and efficiently operating commercial motor vehicles to transport goods in the Piedmont, Greenville and Gray Court areas. This position requires adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the secure delivery of cargo while maintaining the integrity of the shipment. The CDL Driver is responsible for planning routes, managing schedules, and performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee operational safety and compliance. Effective communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members is essential to coordinate deliveries and address any issues that arise during transit. Ultimately, the CDL Driver contributes to the overall success of the supply chain by ensuring timely and reliable transportation services. Required Qualifications: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A as required for the vehicle operated. Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past three years. Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening. Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules. Proven experience operating commercial vehicles safely and efficiently. Responsibilities: Operate commercial motor vehicles in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and maintenance standards are met. Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and time management. Load and unload cargo safely, verifying shipment contents and securing loads to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any delivery issues. Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or incidents promptly to management and follow company safety protocols. Skills: The CDL Driver utilizes their driving skills daily to operate large commercial vehicles safely under varying road and weather conditions. Knowledge of transportation regulations ensures compliance and helps avoid costly violations or delays. Route planning and time management skills are essential to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency. Communication skills facilitate coordination with dispatch and customers, enabling quick resolution of any issues encountered during transit. Additionally, mechanical aptitude allows the driver to perform routine vehicle inspections and identify maintenance needs, contributing to overall vehicle reliability and safety.
