CDL Driver

Black Bear Paving is hiring a CDL Driver to join our crew in Franklin, NC. We're a locally owned asphalt paving company serving Macon County and the surrounding mountain communities. This is a local, home-every-night position hauling asphalt, aggregate, and equipment to and from job sites across Western North Carolina. Pay: $20 - $27 per hour, based on experience. Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays during the paving season. What you'll do: - Drive dump trucks hauling hot-mix asphalt, stone, and millings between the plant, the yard, and job sites - Haul paving equipment on a lowboy/tag trailer when needed - Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep the truck clean and in good working order - Help the paving crew on site when not driving (spotting the paver, raking, general labor) - Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures - Keep accurate load tickets and trip logs What we're looking for: - Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record - Current DOT medical card - Dump truck experience preferred; lowboy / heavy-haul experience is a plus - No paving experience needed - we'll train the right person - Reliable, on time, and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons - Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet - Must be at least 21 and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Why Black Bear: - Local work - home every night - Steady hours with a growing, family-run company - Well-maintained equipment - Opportunity to move up into operator and foreman roles Apply today through Indeed.
