Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will keep our supply chain running smoothly. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks, across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary, following proper safety procedures. Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all DOT standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, dump trucks, forklift operation, and freight handling. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for manual handling and truck loading/unloading. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently on long-distance routes. Strong understanding of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance; previous experience with over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred.
