Job Description Rodgers Brothers Service, Inc. is seeking experienced, dependable, and safety-conscious Commercial Dump Truck Drivers to join our team. We are looking for professional drivers who take pride in their work, demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, and have a thorough understanding of the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area. Qualified candidates should have experience operating commercial dump trucks, maintain a satisfactory driving record, and be capable of safely and efficiently transporting materials to and from construction sites, quarries, and other designated locations. We value drivers who demonstrate reliability, professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Qualifications & Requirements Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required; Class A CDL preferred. Previous experience operating commercial dump trucks. Satisfactory driving record with no recent serious moving violations or preventable accidents. Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations, commercial vehicle safety standards, and applicable traffic laws. General knowledge of the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia metropolitan area. Ability to navigate safely and efficiently while adhering to assigned routes and delivery schedules. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and dependability. Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with dispatch, management, customers, and job site personnel. Must be available and able to work a minimum of 10 hours and up to a maximum of 14 hours per day, based on operational needs and scheduling requirements. The ability and willingness to work within these hours is a condition of employment. Key Responsibilities Safely operate company-owned dump trucks to transport construction materials, aggregates, soil, and other approved materials. Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is safe and roadworthy. Identify, document, and promptly report mechanical concerns, maintenance needs, and potential safety hazards. Maintain accurate daily records of trips, loads, delivery tickets, and other required documentation. Safely maneuver and position trucks at construction sites, quarries, and designated loading and unloading locations. Comply with all federal, state, and local commercial driving regulations, as well as company policies and operating procedures. Maintain timely communication with dispatch regarding assignments, delivery status, delays, and unexpected conditions. Exercise sound judgment when responding to traffic conditions, inclement weather, road hazards, and job site challenges. Maintain company equipment in a clean, safe, and professional manner. Report to work as scheduled and complete assigned duties safely, efficiently, and responsibly. Work Schedule, Extended Workweek Pay & Operational Requirements Rodgers Brothers Service, Inc. maintains a structured work schedule designed to meet customer demands while providing drivers with regularly scheduled time off. Regular Work Schedule Drivers are assigned a regular four-day work week, with a designated day off during the week. Hours worked during the first four scheduled workdays are paid at the employee's regular hourly rate. Opportunities to work a fifth or sixth day may be available depending on operational needs.
