Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing according to logistics cargo handling standards. Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized delivery routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations, maintaining safety at all times. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in line with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving schedules, manage delivery timelines, and handle route adjustments as needed. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., hazmat, tanker). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and freight transportation. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including manual handling techniques for logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient delivery routes. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Experience operating different types of trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers with manual transmission capabilities. Strong commitment to safety practices related to load & unload procedures, hazardous goods handling, and truck driving regulations.
