Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including manual transmission tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Drive over-the-road (OTR) routes, managing long-distance deliveries with efficiency and professionalism. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate using GPS systems to follow designated routes accurately while adjusting for traffic or road conditions. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and maintenance needs are addressed promptly. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Load & unload freight at various delivery points, ensuring accuracy and care in handling all types of cargo including refrigerated trailers when necessary. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or delivery issues swiftly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with freight transportation involving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers. Familiarity with route driving across diverse terrains and over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Knowledge of trucking regulations including FMCSA standards, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols. Experience with truck loading and unloading procedures, manual handling of logistics cargo, and securing loads properly. Valid CDL license with endorsements relevant to the type of freight transported (e.g., Hazmat endorsement preferred). Comfortable operating trucks with manual transmission and utilizing GPS navigation systems effectively. Delivery driver experience emphasizing safety, punctuality, customer service skills, and adherence to federal trucking laws.
