Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes with precision using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries Load and unload freight efficiently, handling logistics cargo with care while complying with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods Transport automobile parts or vehicles via automobile transportation services, ensuring secure loading and unloading procedures Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and verifying proper functioning of refrigeration units when applicable Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide updates, and resolve any issues promptly Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving across various routes and terrains Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and hazardous materials handling Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and hazardous materials regulations for safe transportation of dangerous goods Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments Ability to manually handle cargo during loading/unloading processes while adhering to safety protocols Experience with truck loading/unloading procedures for freight of different types including freight handling on flatbeds or tankers Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence This role is perfect for motivated drivers eager to showcase their expertise while enjoying the freedom of the open road.
