CDL Driver

Job Description CHI Inc., Concrete by the Yard is currently hiring a CDL A or B Driver/Operator to operate our volumetric concrete mixer trucks. This is a hands-on driving and equipment-operating position. Our Driver/Operators deliver freshly mixed concrete to residential and commercial jobsites throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Unlike traditional ready-mix trucks, our volumetric trucks carry the materials separately and mix the concrete fresh at the jobsite. Drivers are responsible for safely operating the truck, learning and operating the volumetric mixing system, properly discharging concrete at the jobsite, communicating with dispatch and customers, and taking care of their assigned equipment. Previous concrete or volumetric mixer experience is not required. We provide paid training. We are looking for dependable individuals who are willing to learn, work safely, and take responsibility for the equipment they operate. Responsibilities Safely operate a volumetric concrete mixer truck. Deliver and produce fresh concrete at residential and commercial jobsites. Learn and properly operate the truck's volumetric mixing and discharge system. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Communicate with dispatch throughout the workday regarding deliveries, delays, jobsite conditions, and other necessary information. Follow assigned routes and delivery instructions. Complete and turn in delivery tickets, scale tickets, and required paperwork. Properly wash out and clean the truck and concrete equipment. Perform routine greasing and basic operator maintenance. Keep assigned equipment clean and in good operating condition. Promptly report mechanical, maintenance, or safety concerns. Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements. Maintain professional communication with customers, contractors, and company personnel. Qualifications Valid Class A or Class B CDL required. Current DOT medical certification as required. Acceptable driving record. Dependable and punctual. Ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle. Comfortable working outdoors and around heavy equipment. Able to perform the physical duties associated with the position. Willing and able to learn volumetric concrete mixer operation. Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively with dispatch and management. Concrete or construction experience is a plus, but not required .
