CDL Container Delivery Driver

This is not a semi-truck or over-the-road driving position. Our drivers operate a Ford F-550 with specialized 20' and 40' container delivery trailers, delivering, picking up, relocating, and positioning shipping containers directly at customer locations throughout the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas. Driving and container delivery are the primary responsibilities of this position. Unlike traditional freight driving, the job requires more than getting from Point A to Point B. Our drivers work directly with customers and frequently maneuver equipment into residential properties, construction sites, commercial facilities, and other locations where backing ability, spatial awareness, patience, and good judgment are essential. When not performing scheduled deliveries, this position assists with container repairs, modifications, basic fabrication, equipment maintenance, and yard operations. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to take ownership of their responsibilities. We're more interested in finding the right person than setting an arbitrary number of years of experience. Pay & Schedule Starting Pay: $30.00 per hour 90-day performance and compensation review Full-time Approximately 40 hours per week Local driving PTO available after one year of employment No company-sponsored benefits currently offered Primary Responsibilities – Container Delivery Operate a Ford F-550 and specialized 20' and 40' container delivery trailers. Deliver, pick up, and relocate 20' and 40' shipping containers. Safely load and unload containers using the trailer's delivery system. Position containers accurately according to customer requirements. Back and maneuver the truck and trailer in tight or challenging locations. Evaluate delivery sites for access, clearance, ground conditions, slopes, overhead obstacles, and other potential hazards. Recognize when a requested placement cannot be completed safely or without unreasonable risk of property or equipment damage. Protect customer property and company equipment throughout the delivery process. Communicate professionally with customers before and during deliveries. Properly secure containers and loads for transportation. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Maintain compliance with DOT and company safety requirements. Maintain required CDL and medical qualifications. Keep trucks, trailers, and delivery equipment clean and properly maintained. Identify and report maintenance or equipment concerns. Immediately report accidents, property damage, equipment damage, or unsafe conditions. Additional Responsibilities When delivery schedules allow, you'll assist with other aspects of our container operation, including: Container repairs and maintenance. Installing doors, windows, vents, and other container modifications. Basic welding and fabrication. Cutting, grinding, drilling, measuring, and fitting steel. Painting, sealing, caulking, and weatherproofing. Assisting with custom container projects. Operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Moving and organizing containers in the yard. Preparing containers for rental or sale. Maintaining trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment. Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe. Assisting with other operational projects as needed. Previous welding or fabrication experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person. A willingness to learn and perform this work is an important part of the position. What We're Looking For Experience matters, but attitude, judgment, and willingness to learn matter just as much.
