CDL Company Driver OTD

Job Overview As a Company Driver/OTR, you’ll transport freight safely and reliably over the road (OTR), supporting timely deliveries and careful cargo handling. You’ll operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, and may haul freight using refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, depending on the load. This paid position requires safe driving, route planning, and compliance with applicable transportation rules. Responsibilities Drive commercial trucks on OTR and local route-driving assignments, using GPS navigation to follow routes and delivery schedules. Inspect vehicles and secure freight before departure; load and unload cargo or coordinate handling as required. Transport general freight, automobiles, and, when assigned and properly qualified, hazardous materials or dangerous goods. Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including applicable hazardous materials requirements. Communicate delivery updates, document trips, and report vehicle or cargo concerns promptly. Skills Required: Valid commercial driving qualifications appropriate to the assigned vehicle and cargo; safe truck-driving and delivery-driving practices. Required: Ability to operate a manual transmission and perform manual handling, including truck loading and unloading when needed. Preferred: Delivery driver experience, commercial truck driving, and experience with tractor-trailers or freight logistics and cargo handling. Preferred: Experience with refrigerated trailers, automobile transportation, flatbed or tanker equipment, and OTR routes. Hazmat experience and knowledge of dangerous-goods handling are preferred; applicable endorsements and compliance with hazardous materials regulations are required when assigned those loads.
