CDL Class B Relief Driver (On-Call)

Training Pay: $225 per training shift Route Pay: $300–$400 per completed route Do you have extra availability and want to earn additional income? We are building a pool of qualified CDL drivers to cover overnight routes when regularly scheduled drivers are unavailable or when additional holiday coverage is needed. Drivers will operate a 26-foot refrigerated straight truck equipped with air brakes and deliver prepackaged chicken to store locations throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas. Responsibilities Complete overnight, multi-stop delivery routes Unload cases using a hand truck Verify deliveries against the delivery paperwork Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain product temperatures and follow food-safety procedures Return the truck to our Hyattsville distribution center after the route Requirements Valid CDL Class B or Class A license Qualified to operate air-brake-equipped vehicles with no air-brake restriction Current DOT medical card and acceptable driving record Experience operating a 26-foot straight truck Ability to lift and handle cases weighing approximately 40–70 pounds Ability to pass DOT-required drug and alcohol screening Overnight and short-notice availability Paid training is provided at $225 per completed training shift . Once approved to cover routes independently, drivers will earn $300–$400 per completed route , depending on route length, stop count, duration, and workload. This is an as-needed relief position. Weekly hours and route assignments are not guaranteed. Reliable relief drivers will be considered for permanent routes. Pay: $300.00 - $400.00 per day Work Location: In person
