CDL Class A Truck Driver

Role Description This is a full-time CDL A Truck Driver role based in Tuscaloosa, AL. The CDL A Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting logs, timber products, and related materials between job sites, mills, and storage locations. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and tarping loads as required, following all DOT and company safety regulations, and maintaining accurate delivery and mileage records. The driver will coordinate with dispatchers, foresters, and yard personnel to support efficient timber operations and will help keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and ready for daily use. The role may involve driving in rural and off-highway environments, as well as assisting with basic loading and unloading procedures. Compensation $30.00 per hour. Production bonus program and employer sponsored health insurance. Estimated yearly earnings exceeding $90,000 per year Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and current DOT medical card. Proven experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in logging, forestry, or flatbed/hauling operations. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe load securement practices. Ability to perform routine truck inspections and basic maintenance checks. Comfort driving in rural, off-road, and variable weather conditions. Good communication skills and ability to work respectfully with dispatchers, landowners, and crew members. Dependable time management, attention to detail, and commitment to safety procedures. Ability to lift, bend, and perform occasional physical tasks related to load securement and site work. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in forestry or timber operations is a plus.
