CDL Class A Switcher Driver/Forklift operator

Job Summary Join our dynamic transportation team as a CDL Class A Switcher Driver, where you'll play a vital role in efficiently maneuvering and positioning tractor-trailers within our facility. This energetic position involves precise switching operations, ensuring seamless movement of freight and equipment to support our logistics operations. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and knowledge of safety regulations will drive our success while providing a rewarding and fast-paced work environment. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmission to switch and position trailers within the yard. Follow designated routes and ensure timely trailer movements. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and goods in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, focusing on safety features, load security, and compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Coordinate with yard personnel to execute efficient trailer swaps, ensuring proper placement of trailers. Assist with truck loading/unloading processes, ensuring manual handling safety protocols are followed during freight transfer. Requirements Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, route driving, or delivery driving. Ability to operate automatic transmissions confidently and handle manual handling tasks safely. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards. Experience with tractor-trailer operations. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with yard staff and drivers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and accuracy standards.
