As a professional OTR driver, you will operate commercial tractor-trailers across national and regional routes, transporting freight while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. Job Responsibilities Safely operate commercial tractor-trailers on national and regional OTR routes. Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated cargo, flatbed loads, tankers, and hazardous materials, as qualified and properly endorsed. Follow all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and state regulations. Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections. Ensure freight is properly loaded, secured, and transported safely. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and navigation systems. Meet delivery schedules while complying with federal hours-of-service regulations. Maintain accurate electronic or written driving logs, inspection reports, and shipping documentation. Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and road conditions. Maintain a clean, professional, and safety-conscious driving record. Qualifications & Requirements Valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver's License . At least 2 years CDL A OTR experience with clean mvr and clean background history Safe driving history and commitment to responsible driving practices. Previous commercial truck driving experience preferred. Familiarity with OTR and regional routes. Ability to operate commercial trucks with manual or automatic transmissions, depending on equipment requirements. Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers is a plus. Hazmat and other applicable endorsements are a plus Ability to use GPS navigation and electronic logging devices (ELDs). Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform required vehicle inspections and follow cargo securement procedures. Why Join American Truckers?
