CDL CLASS A OTR DRIVER/LEASE-ON OWNER-OPERATOR

Join our growing team as a CDL Class A Over-the-Road Driver with Oak Island Transport. We are currently hiring qualified company drivers and are also accepting experienced owner-operators and drivers looking to lease on with our company. In this role, you will operate over-the-road routes across multiple states while transporting freight safely, professionally, and on schedule. We are looking for dependable drivers who take pride in their equipment, communicate well with dispatch, and understand the importance of safety and customer service. Duties Safely operate a tractor-trailer on OTR routes while following all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Transport freight across multiple states while maintaining cargo security and integrity. Use GPS and routing tools to plan efficient routes and meet pickup and delivery schedules. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers. Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other required documentation. Communicate with dispatch regarding pickup and delivery status, delays, equipment issues, and route changes. Maintain professional communication with customers, shippers, receivers, and dispatch personnel. Follow all hours-of-service, ELD, safety, and company requirements. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license. Safe driving record and ability to meet company and insurance requirements. OTR or regional commercial driving experience preferred. Strong understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Experience operating tractor-trailers and dry van equipment. Familiarity with ELD systems, GPS navigation, and electronic load tracking. Ability to perform required vehicle inspections and identify potential safety or maintenance concerns. Strong communication skills and a professional attitude. Dependable, safety-focused, and able to manage time effectively while on the road. Lease-On Drivers / Owner-Operators We are also accepting qualified owner-operators and drivers interested in leasing their truck onto Oak Island Transport. Lease-on drivers can operate under our authority while gaining access to our dispatch and freight network.
