Come Drive With a Great Crew. For over 100 years, Seattle Iron & Metals Corp. has been a family-owned and operated cornerstone of the Seattle industrial community. We know that experienced CDL drivers don’t need someone looking over their shoulder every five minutes to do their job right. If you are burned out on big corporate fleets where you’re treated like nothing more than a truck number, micro-managed by dispatch, and buried in red tape, you’ll fit right in here. We run an exciting, respectful, and safety-focused yard where we hire pros, give you your route, and trust you to handle your truck. You get the friendly, tight-knit atmosphere of a family business backed by the rock-solid financial security of Teamsters Local 174. Why Drivers Stay With Us: No Micromanagement: We treat our drivers like adults and professionals. Do your pre-trip, run your loads safely, take care of the customer, and enjoy your day without someone breathing down your neck. A Crew You’ll Actually Like Working With: Supportive dispatchers who know the streets, mechanics who keep the fleet safe, and a great team of veteran drivers who have each other’s backs. True Total Compensation ($40–$44+/hr Value): Starting base wage of $31.00 – $35.00/hr DOE (plus 1.5x overtime), PLUS top-tier Teamsters Local 174 family medical, dental, and vision insurance and Pension contributions. Be home in your own bed every night, with optional additional weekday and Saturday runs when you want extra overtime cash. 100+ Years of Stability: Scrap metal moves year-round—no seasonal layoffs. Haul & Secure: Pick up, drop, and swap roll-off containers, and safely strap, chain, and secure flatbed scrap metal loads in compliance with DOT and company standards. Inspect Inbound Loads: Act as our eyes in the field by checking customer scrap loads for prohibited, hazardous, or closed-cylinder materials before transport. Represent the Yard: Provide friendly, straightforward, and reliable service to regular local customers who are glad to see you pull up.
