You will operate tractor-trailers equipped for flatbed hauling, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Duties Safely operate a flatbed tractor-trailer across designated local routes, ensuring compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, handling logistics cargo with precision to prevent damage or accidents. Secure loads properly on flatbeds, including hazardous materials or dangerous goods, following all safety protocols. Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and ensure timely deliveries within the local area. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking for mechanical issues and verifying safety equipment. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record, demonstrating experience in commercial truck driving and route driving. Proven experience with flatbed trucking, freight handling, load & unload procedures, and securing cargo safely. Familiarity with hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) is a plus; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held. Knowledge of GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient local deliveries. Ability to manually handle freight, including loading/unloading heavy or awkward items on flatbeds or tankers if required. Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA standards governing commercial trucking operations.
