CDL A Tow Operator

Overview Meridian Towing and Recovery is hiring a CDL A Tow Operator in Hobbs, New Mexico. Work includes heavy-duty commercial towing, vehicle recovery, rollback operations and skid-steer support. We’re looking for someone dependable who uses sound judgment, takes care of equipment and takes pride in getting the job done safely. Pay Experienced operators receive a $1,500 guaranteed weekly minimum for the agreed work schedule OR 30% of eligible job revenue credited to them, whichever is greater. Your production can take your earnings higher. For example, $10,000 in eligible weekly job revenue pays $3,000 at 30%. Actual earnings above the minimum depend on production. Duties Operate the heavy wrecker and rollback after training and authorization. Perform commercial truck towing, repair-shop transfers, vehicle recovery and other assigned towing work. Load, secure and transport vehicles using appropriate equipment and procedures. Assess vehicle condition, access and equipment limitations before starting work. Cross-train on skid-steer operations and recovery support as needed. Complete equipment inspections, report defects and perform routine equipment-care tasks. Maintain accurate job records and communicate professionally with customers and dispatch. Keep trucks, rigging and the yard organized and ready for work. Experience and Qualifications Required: Current CDL Class A and commercial driving experience, including manual-transmission operation. Required: Safe driving habits, dependability and careful equipment handling. Preferred: Heavy-duty towing, rollback or commercial vehicle recovery experience. Preferred: Mechanical aptitude relevant to towing preparation, troubleshooting and equipment care. Willingness to learn, cross-train and work the agreed schedule and on-call arrangements.
