In this energetic position, you’ll operate specialized tractor-trailers equipped with tanker capabilities, ensuring the timely delivery of hazardous and non-hazardous freight. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and commitment to excellent service will drive our success forward. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques and equipment, ensuring cargo safety and integrity. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes for timely deliveries across various locations. Deliver hazardous materials (hazmat) Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving plans, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen issues during transit. Requirements Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmission preferred. Proven delivery driver experience, especially in truck loading/unloading, freight handling, and route driving. Knowledge of truck driving regulations including FMCSA, DOT, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods. Ability to handle hazardous materials safely following all safety protocols; Hazmat certification is a plus but not mandatory at hire. Experience working with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks or automobile transportation is highly desirable. Strong manual handling skills for load & unload operations; familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems to ensure efficient route planning. Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting heavy cargo, standing for extended periods, and performing manual tasks safely.
