East Hillsborough drivers: steady eastern miles and a company that trains new CDL holders. You just got your CDL and need someone to give you the first seat. This is it: paid mentor training, then your own truck. The money Paid every week during training $1,000 a week guaranteed for your first 3 months solo About $1,200 a week once solo Starts at $0.55 a mile, up $0.01 a year to $0.65 About 2,500 miles a week $15 stop pay Paid weekly Your week Eastern regional freight. Drop and hook and live loads. Out roughly two weeks, then home. Planned loads, 24/7 dispatch. What new drivers ask us "How often will I see home?" Every two weeks. "I am not good at backing yet." Nobody is on day one. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you drive alone. "Will one ticket disqualify me?" Not by itself. Up to 2 moving violations in the past 2 years is accepted. "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes. "What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo. What happens after you apply A recruiter calls the same business day and goes over your license and record with you. Orientation takes 2 days at most; the hotel is covered, your bus ticket is reimbursed, and you get $300 for attending once hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, logs, fueling and trip planning, and you are paid every week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week. To qualify You must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL. New drivers need at least 120 hours from a CDL school; otherwise, 6 months of recent experience.
