The position offers a choice between mileage-based and hourly compensation. Most freight is drop-and-hook, with some live-unload deliveries. Drivers do not handle the freight. Pay options Mileage driver $0.84 per mile. Approximately 2,000 miles per week. Average gross weekly pay of $1,400–$1,600. Approximately $25 layover pay when applicable. Hourly driver $27.00 per hour at start. $28.00 per hour after six months. $29.00 per hour after one year. Approximately 900–1,000 miles per week. Average gross weekly pay of $1,000–$1,200. Approximately $25 layover pay when applicable. Pay and weekly earnings vary based on route assignments, miles, hours, freight volume, and qualifying layovers. Operating area Operating area: PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD, VA, WV New York routes include Staten Island. Routes and delivery locations vary by freight needs and assigned schedule. Freight and deliveries Corrugated and cardboard products. No-touch freight. Mostly drop-and-hook deliveries. Some live-unload deliveries. Weekly stop count varies based on freight volume. Schedule Primary operation is Monday - Friday. Saturdays are optional. Occasional layovers may occur. Drivers must remain flexible when route requirements change. Equipment Sleeper tractor.
