Job Description CDL-A Owner Operators – Local NY/NJ Port Drayage Typical Gross: $4,000–$6,500+ per week | Local Work | Home Daily Container Boss is actively hiring experienced CDL-A Owner Operators for local container drayage throughout the Port of New York and New Jersey . We are based in Perth Amboy, NJ and are looking to add experienced, reliable owner-operators to our fleet immediately. Our operation handles consistent import and export container freight throughout the NY/NJ port system and surrounding delivery areas. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with compensation paid per move . Compensation Current active owner-operators typically gross approximately $4,000–$6,500+ per week Paid per move Weekly gross depends on completed moves, lanes, availability, freight volume, and other operational factors Consistent work available for drivers who are dependable and available What You'll Be Doing Pick up and return import/export containers at NY/NJ marine terminals Perform local and regional container deliveries Communicate with dispatch regarding appointments, releases, container status, and port conditions Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain required DOT/FMCSA documentation Provide professional and reliable service to customers and terminal personnel Requirements Valid Class A CDL TWIC card required SeaLink card required Experience operating in the NY/NJ ports strongly preferred Must own and operate a roadworthy tractor Must meet applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements Safe driving record Dependable, professional, and able to communicate effectively with dispatch Familiarity with NY/NJ marine terminals and container drayage is strongly preferred Why Work With Container Boss?
