CDL-A OTR Driver - Newer Equipment - Experienced Drivers
American DriverWe're hiring experienced CDL-A drivers in Ringgold, Fort Oglethorpe and Catoosa County for a solo OTR dry van seat. Drivers average $1,525 a week on about 2,000 miles, with a $7,500 sign-on bonus. Most drivers don't leave a carrier because of one big thing. They leave because of the same few small things, week after week. If any of these sound familiar, read on. "I was always waiting on a dock." Here, about 85% of loads are drop and hook, and 99% of freight is no-touch. When you do wait, detention pays $12.50 an hour after the first 2 hours. "My truck was always in the shop." Your truck is assigned to you and is 2023 or newer. It's automatic, has double bunks and a 1,250-watt inverter, and you can take it home on your days off. "The miles dried up." Drivers here average about 2,000 miles a week across all 48 states, mostly east of I-35. NYC is never forced on you. "My check never grew." Your mileage rate rises with experience. After a year, loyalty pay adds 3 to 6 cents a mile. A monthly bonus pays up to 3 more cents for safe, productive driving. You also get a yearly raise and a per diem program, and you're paid every week. "I wasn't paid when things went wrong." Layover and breakdown pay is $100 a day, and short hauls carry a $100–$200 minimum. "I felt watched." Cameras face the road, not the driver. On top of all that, there's a $7,500 sign-on bonus . What Doesn't Change This is OTR: 10 to 14 days out, then 2 days home. After 30 days you get medical, dental and vision, plus a 401(k) with a company match up to 5%.
