Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CDL A Manual Local Driver specializing in container and flatbed transportation. Join our team and enjoy the opportunity to work with a dedicated group committed to excellence in transportation services. **** TWIC CARD REQUIRED*** Responsibilities Safely operate CDL A manual transmission tractor-trailers, including container and flatbed trucks, across designated local routes Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when applicable Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized delivery routes, ensuring punctuality and efficiency Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checks on brakes, lights, tires, and load securement Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and mileage logs in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring safe handling of dangerous goods or hazardous materials when necessary Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed or tanker trailers Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials handling procedures Skilled in manual handling techniques for freight loading and unloading Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely Experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes as well as local delivery driving Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance and hazard awareness Familiarity with logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and freight management Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation regulations and safety protocols Join us in delivering excellence through safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services!
