Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions on local delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs. Transport a variety of freight with 53 ft dry van Use GPS navigation systems to plan and follow efficient routes, maintaining adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of dangerous goods and hazardous materials in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, including checking for mechanical issues, safety equipment, and load security. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered during trips. Requirements Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred. 2-3 years experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including handling freight such as 53 ft dry vans Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning software to optimize delivery efficiency. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Ability to manually handle cargo safely while complying with logistics cargo handling standards. Strong attention to detail for load securing, safety checks, and documentation accuracy.
