CDL A Heavy-Duty Tow Truck Driver

Job Overview As a Tow Truck Driver, you’ll respond to service calls, safely load and transport vehicles, and help drivers get moving again. You’ll operate a tow truck, including flatbed equipment, and use sound judgment to protect people, vehicles, and property. Your impact: Safe, reliable vehicle recovery helps stranded drivers reach their destination and reduces risk at roadside scenes. Duties Drive a tow truck to service locations and perform car towing and vehicle recovery towing. Safely load, unload, and secure vehicles using proper cargo securement protocols and equipment. Assess vehicle condition, perform basic vehicle troubleshooting, and complete minor mechanical vehicle repairs when appropriate. Apply automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle mechanics skills to identify issues and explain next steps. Provide clear customer service, manage conflicts professionally, and document service details. Requirements Demonstrated driving ability and commercial driving experience; commercial truck driving experience is preferred. Ability to operate a flatbed tow truck and safely load vehicles onto a tow truck. Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles, automotive repair, and basic vehicle troubleshooting; mechanic experience is preferred. Ability to follow safe loading and cargo securement procedures and handle load and unload tasks. Strong communication, customer service, and conflict management skills; able to work responsibly in roadside conditions.
