Job Description: CDL-A Hazmat Truck Driver – Regional Shuttle Route ( Lawtey, FL – Patterson, GA) Specialty Transport is seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL-A driver with a current Hazmat endorsement for a dedicated shuttle route between Lawtey, Florida, and Patterson, Georgia. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday driving position offering consistent work, a set daily rate, and weekends at home. The route is ideal for a professional driver looking for predictable weekday scheduling without the demands of a traditional over-the-road position. Flexible Home Location! Live wherever works best for you along the Lawtey, FL, to Patterson, GA corridor. Drivers can be based near either terminal or anywhere along the route, including the Jacksonville area! Position Highlights Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday Predictable weekday schedule and consistent route expectations. Home time: Home on weekends Route: Dedicated shuttle between Lawtey, FL, and Patterson, GA Workload: 7 loads per week, approximately 1.5 round trips per day Equipment: Sleeper tractor pulling a side-dump trailer Hazmat endorsement required Job Responsibilities Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle along the assigned shuttle route. Transport scheduled loads between Lawtey, Florida, and Patterson, Georgia. Complete approximately seven loads per week while maintaining safe and efficient operations. Operate a side-dump trailer and sleeper tractor in accordance with company procedures. Follow all applicable DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and hazardous materials transportation regulations. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any equipment issues. Maintain accurate electronic logs, load documentation, and other required paperwork. Communicate with dispatch regarding load progress, delays, and operational needs. Maintain a professional attitude and prioritize safety at all times. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A). Current Hazmat endorsement required. Acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history. Ability to comply with DOT regulations and company safety policies. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to safely operate a tractor-trailer combination and complete the assigned route consistently. Willingness to stay in the truck during the workweek as needed. Schedule and Home Time This is a dedicated, full-time weekday position with a consistent 7:30 AM start time. Drivers will operate between Lawtey, FL, and Patterson, GA, completing scheduled shuttle loads throughout the workweek. Drivers should plan to remain in the truck most weeknights and will return home after completing Friday's shift for the weekend. The driver's home base may be located at either terminal or anywhere along the route, including Jacksonville and surrounding areas.
