Role Description This full-time, on-site CDL-A Flatbed Driver role is based in Syracuse, NY. The driver is responsible for safely operating a CDL-A vehicle with a flatbed trailer, transporting goods between designated locations, and ensuring timely, accurate deliveries. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting the vehicle and equipment, securing and tarping loads as required, following route plans and delivery schedules, and completing all necessary logs and paperwork. The role also involves communicating with dispatch and customer contacts, complying with DOT and company safety policies, and maintaining a professional, customer-focused demeanor during pick-ups and deliveries. Drivers are expected to assist with loading and unloading within safe and reasonable limits and to report any incidents, mechanical issues, or delays promptly. Qualifications Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record and familiarity with DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements. Experience operating flatbed equipment, including safe load securement, use of straps and chains, and tarping procedures. Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) experience preferred. Strong safety mindset, including adherence to company policies, defensive driving practices, and regular vehicle inspections. Basic route planning and navigation skills, including use of GPS and ability to follow dispatch instructions and delivery schedules. Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with dispatch, store associates, and customers. Good physical condition to handle the demands of flatbed work, including climbing on trailers, securing loads, and working in various weather conditions. Reliability and time management skills, with the ability to work full-time schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed. Previous commercial driving or logistics experience preferred.
