Key Responsibilities
• Operate CDL A tractor trailer safely on regional and long haul flatbed and curtain-side routes.
• Transport lumber, building products, and various flatbed freight across the western United States.
• Secure, tarp, and inspect loads to guarantee safe and compliant transport.
• Perform thorough pre and post trip inspections, documenting all findings accurately.
• Adhere to all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations and policies.
• Maintain precise logs, trip sheets, and delivery documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and terminal staff.
• Take care of and report maintenance needs for assigned equipment and trailers.
Essential Skills
• Proven experience in CDL Class A truck operation.
• Expertise in flatbed load securement.
• Knowledge of tarping and cargo protection techniques.
• Understanding of DOT and FMCSA compliance standards.
• Defensive driving capabilities.
• Proficient in vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) usage.
• Effective trip planning and time management skills.
• Experience with regional and long haul driving.
• Exemplary customer communication skills.
