Pro truxsJob Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a CDL A Flatbed and Step Deck Driver operating within the state! You’ll be responsible for transporting a variety of cargo, including flatbed loads, step deck freight, and specialized equipment, ensuring timely deliveries across local routes. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with flatbed and step deck configurations on over-the-road (OTR) routes within the state, following all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo such as hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or specialized freight like tanker or refrigerated trailer loads. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules. Transport automobile transportation loads when required, maintaining vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure truck safety, including checking load securement, brake systems, lights, and tires. Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate route driving, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen issues during transit. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Requirements Valid CDL A license with flatbed and step deck endorsements; experience with tractor-trailers preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on flatbed or step deck freight; delivery driver experience is highly valued. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling including load & unload procedures for freight such as hazardous materials or dangerous goods. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient route driving within the state. Ability to manually handle freight safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading. Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission trucks is a plus.
