Brown Star Import & ExportJob Overview We are seeking energetic and dedicated CDL A Drivers to join our dynamic transportation team! As a CDL A Driver, you will be the backbone of our logistics operations, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery of freight across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and specialized trailers such as refrigerated, flatbed, and tanker units. Your expertise will keep our supply chain moving smoothly while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards set by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation). Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers on over-the-road (OTR) routes or local delivery runs. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to follow designated routes while optimizing delivery schedules. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Load and unload freight at various facilities, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while adhering to DOT regulations. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a focus on freight handling. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations, hazardous materials regulations, and tanker or flatbed trailer handling. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely over long distances or local routes. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time adjustments. Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials handling procedures. Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload activities; capable of managing logistics cargo handling efficiently. Safe driving record with experience in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes that require adherence to all safety standards and traffic laws.
