In this role, you’ll operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers and tanker units, transporting hazardous and non-hazardous freight over the road (OTR) and local routes. Your dedication to adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials handling will ensure seamless deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across OTR routes, local deliveries, and specialized freight transportation. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat), including dangerous goods, in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and DOT requirements. Handle refrigerated trailers for temperature-sensitive freight, ensuring proper load management and delivery conditions. Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries. Load, secure, unload, and manually handle logistics cargo while adhering to safety protocols for truck loading and unloading procedures. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, tankers, and safety equipment to ensure vehicle readiness. Maintain accurate delivery logs, incident reports, and compliance documentation in line with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route adjustments or address delivery issues promptly. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Endorsed for Tanker and Hazmat (hazardous materials) transportation; certification must be current. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with flatbed or tanker units preferred. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operations and automobile transportation is a plus. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures for dangerous goods handling. Ability to manually handle cargo safely during load & unload activities; experience with truck loading/unloading is advantageous. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems; experience with route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes preferred.
