CDL-A Driver -Dry and Refrigerated

Job Overview Regional CDL-A position with drivers generally out during the week and home every weekend, typically Friday or Saturday . Weekend work is optional and paid at time-and-a-half . Drivers know their Monday dispatch time by Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Typical Miles: Approximately 2,700–3,000 miles/week Freight: Dry + refrigerated; truckload and volume LTL Routes: Primarily Northeast; routes vary initially, but approximately 85% of Road Scholar’s weekly business is repetitive, allowing many drivers to develop familiar customers and lanes over time. Responsibilities Drive commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, on assigned routes and OTR trips. Transport freight, including refrigerated loads, and secure cargo for safe delivery. Load and unload shipments; perform manual handling and coordinate truck loading and unloading. Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including applicable hazardous materials regulations for hazmat or dangerous goods. Your impact: Safe driving and careful cargo handling help customers receive freight in good condition and on schedule. Experience 2+ years recent, verifiable CDL driving experience — OTR, regional or local experience is acceptable. No major moving violations within the past 3 years; no DUI within the past 5 years; ideally no more than 5 jobs in the past 3 years. Hazmat & Tanker: Preferred, not required. Road Scholar is willing to help drivers obtain Hazmat. SAP: May be considered if the program has been fully completed and Road Scholar is not responsible for ongoing testing.
