Summary of Position : The CDL-A Driver is responsible to deliver and pick up food to ensure successful continuation of the food supply chain activities of the Food Bank of South Jersey. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods while maintaining full compliance with all DOT regulations. Position Responsibilities : Operate commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT and company safety standards. Comply with all DOT standards. Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and procedures. Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening. Stage orders for delivery at designated locations. Contribute with other staff members to maintain the orderliness of all locations where product is stored and stages Offload product in a safe manner. Identify spoiled product and notify management at pickup location At the end of the shift, communicate the work completed (and not completed) Engage with all levels of FB staff Operate forklift when assigned Operate other FB equipment as assigned Immediately report performance issues observed/experienced with any type of FB vehicle or truck Immediately report any deficiency that prevents safe utilization of the CDL or regular driver’s license when applicable. Assist with duties of order puller as required in order to fulfill the plan of the day (POD) Responsibilities include assisting with the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility and vehicles as directed by management. Perform all other duties as assigned. Education : High School diploma or equivalent. Experience and Skills : At least five (5) years of CDL-A driving experience preferred Valid CDL Class A license Clean driving record in accordance with DOT standards. Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and procedures. Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
