Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport refrigerated freight and hazardous materials (if certified), adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Use GPS navigation tools to plan optimal routes, monitor progress, and adjust routes as needed for efficiency. Load and unload freight using appropriate manual handling techniques, forklift equipment, or other cargo handling tools while maintaining safety standards. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Manage delivery schedules efficiently, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining high customer service standards. Document all transportation activities accurately, including logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery confirmations. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on over-the-road (OTR) routes involving flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers. Familiarity with truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for logistics cargo. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to dangerous goods transportation. Experience operating trucks with manual transmissions and using GPS navigation systems for route planning. Delivery driver experience with a track record of safe driving and excellent customer service skills. Ability to handle various types of freight such as freight containers, hazardous materials, or specialty cargo like automobile transportation or dump trucks if applicable. Certifications in Hazmat handling or forklift operation are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications preferred. Join us in delivering excellence on the open road!
