Our Opening and Your Responsibilities The Regional Category Manager for Machined Parts will manage the procurement and all commercial aspects related to mechanical items, drawing parts, and sub-assemblies. The Category Manager will deliver sourcing innovation, and drive total cost of ownership optimization through the standardization and optimization of the US regional supplier base. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Work in tandem with the Regional Sourcing Engineer in the development and implementation of a cohesive procurement strategy for machined parts in North America. * Conduct sourcing opportunity analysis for machined parts for U.S. Production Units through the following: * Spend analysis * Cost analysis * Low-cost country sourcing * Lead all supplier commercial contract negotiations and execution * Perform supplier quarterly business reviews * Develop and grow relationships with internal stakeholders (R&D, Product Managers, Project Managers, & Unit Procurement personnel) * Lead and manage the competitive bid process * Identify cost reduction programs while managing quality assurance, security of supply, and contractual risks * Work with Sourcing Engineer to drive implementation of Mettler Toledo Design Standard guidelines * Recognized as the single-point of contact for dedicated US business unit key stakeholders for assistance for all commercial issues related to machined parts. * Optimize supplier base through consolidation / rationalization * Recognized as the New Product Development single point of contact for an assigned U.S. Business Unit * Provide support when needed for Regional and Global project implementations • * Other duties as assigned What You Need to Succeed Education, Experience & Skills: * At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment * Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering (MBA a plus) * Experience working in a highly matrixed multicultural organization * Open-minded and engaged personality * Strong financial and analytical ability * Ability to manage through influence when you don't have authority to give directives * Experience presenting to all levels of a global organization * Proficient user of MS Office, SAP and IT savvy in general * Ability to effectively present information to stakeholders and respond accordingly to questions and requests from all levels of an organization. * Excellent English written and oral communication skills are required. German and Chinese language skills are a plus Travel: * Travel requirements for this position are typically 10-20%, and will require the ability to travel to domestically within the U.S. and internationally.
