Category Manager - Chemicals & Raw Materials

MAPEI is seeking a Category Manager, Chemicals & Raw Materials to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for raw materials used in our chemical manufacturing operations. This role will focus on supplier partnerships, cost optimization, supply continuity, and identifying alternative materials to support product development and manufacturing. Please note: This is a fully onsite position based at our Deerfield Beach, FL headquarters. Key Responsibilities Negotiate supplier contracts covering price, delivery, quality, and commercial terms. Develop and execute sourcing strategies in collaboration with Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, and R&D. Ensure reliable supply of critical raw materials while reducing sole-source dependency and supply chain risks. Partner with R&D to identify and qualify alternative chemical raw materials and packaging solutions. Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and resolve quality and delivery issues. Track raw material market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities. Support budgeting, reporting, KPI tracking, and supplier and specification management. Comply with applicable regulations, company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. What's in It for You? Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant industry experience, or ten years of related experience and/or training. Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within manufacturing. Experience with chemical raw materials, polymers, resins, additives, or specialty chemicals is highly desirable. Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Microsoft 365 or Dynamics AX experience is a plus. Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel 10–15%.
