Responsibilities of Category Manager:
You will develop and execute procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and lead sourcing initiatives for temporary labor and outsourced warehouse services. This role focuses on optimizing costs, improving supplier performance, supporting operational flexibility, and partnering with stakeholders across procurement, operations, human resources, finance, and business leadership.
• Develop and execute category strategies for temporary labor and outsourced warehouse services.
• Lead sourcing activities, including supplier selection, requests for proposals, supplier negotiations, and contract discussions.
• Manage relationships with staffing agencies, temporary labor providers, and outsourced warehouse service providers.
• Drive cost optimization, service quality improvements, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and operational reliability.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across procurement, operations, human resources, finance, and business leadership.
• Support multi-site labor requirements within warehouse, logistics, distribution, supply chain, and high-volume operational environments.
• Analyze market trends, labor models, pricing structures, and supplier capabilities to support procurement decisions.
• Manage supplier performance through key performance indicators, scorecards, governance meetings, and issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, process improvements, and strategic supplier partnerships.
• Ensure procurement activities follow corporate governance, compliance standards, and company policies.
Required Skills and Experience of Category Manager:
• Experience in temporary labor procurement, contingent workforce procurement, staffing services procurement, agency labor, or outsourced warehouse services.
• Experience with indirect procurement related to labor or operational services.
• Experience in category management, supplier negotiations, large spend ownership, and stakeholder management.
• Strong supplier negotiation and procurement management skills.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders in a regional business environment.
• Ability to work from the Westerville, Ohio office three days per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting warehouse, logistics, distribution, supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment, or high-volume labor environments.
• Experience managing temporary labor programs across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of contingent workforce models, Managed Service Provider programs, Vendor Management System tools, or supplier governance processes.
• Experience managing suppliers across the United States and Canada.
• Experience improving supplier performance, reducing supplier fragmentation, or developing strategic supplier partnerships.
