ConfidentialPrimary Job Duties Customer Service Skills: Greet customers throughout the day and provide assistance with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Answer phones and direct calls. Sales Skills: Responsible for promoting and locating products that meet the customer’s needs. Assist customers with special order requests, ensuring appropriate follow-through. Proficient with point-of-sale system for cashiering. Responsible for selecting the products for monthly promotion and ensuring accurate pricing and adequate stock on hand. Organizational Skills: Maintain a clean and organized environment, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting. Participate in deep cleaning of the department according to department procedure. Loads baler and bundles bales. Maintains backstock in accordance with department standards. Keeps electronic and physical files organized to the extent that others can navigate them. Purchasing: Follow guidelines for ordering to obtain favorable prices, terms, quality, and delivery. Evaluate suppliers and investigate new sources of supply. Ensure a fresh and dynamic product mix by reviewing movement reports, discontinuing slow-movers, and picking up new items. Review department financial reports and take action where needed to meet sales, turns and margin goals. Process price changes to ensure price variances are promptly resolved. Monitor ingredients and sources of all items to conform to Berryvale product standards. Ordering: Order product using the POS system, company websites, phone orders, email ordering or in person ordering. Proficient with the POS system for generating orders, using on-hand counts, and sales history for accurate ordering. Receiving: Receive inventory, including checking for quality and expiration dates, and ensuring that all products are properly stored and rotated. Prepare merchandise for purchase. Ticket, arrange, and display merchandise to promote sales. Accurately note invoices with errors in the shipment. Balance and submit invoices in ECRS. Price special orders. Process invoices, making sure to follow up on credits, quality concerns, and pricing discrepancies. Track that credits have been received following procedure. Follow up with the company as needed. Inventory Management & Merchandising: Excellent awareness of products, location in the store/backstock, their sources and ordering procedures. Stock, rotate, merchandise, and face product according to department procedure. Maintain and consolidate backstock in accordance with department standards. Perform inventory counts as needed to meet department deadlines using the POS system. Run physical inventory variance reports in ECRS, trouble shoot issues and correct them. Commit the worksheet. Perform temp checks on the refrigeration to ensure proper holding of product. Monitor inventory to minimize out of stocks. Follow signage standards, ensuring proper pricing. Check that all signs are posted and removed at the proper timing for promotional periods. Refresh shelf tags for accuracy and presentation. Plan department layout and product locations to meet goals for sales volume, aesthetics, and shopping/stocking efficiency. Leadership: Provide directions to receiving staff in stocking and maintaining department. Demonstrate and remind others of policy and procedure. Be a primary trainer for new crew members: receiving, stocking, cleaning. Maintain positive aspects of our company culture. Learns and adapts to new tasks or situations quickly and cooperatively.
