Please Note: This is a casual position from November 1, 2026 until December 23, 2026 The successful candidate will be an energetic, empathetic, and student focused instructor with a demonstrated commitment to motivating learners and supporting academic achievement. They will bring strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with proven experience delivering adult education in a postsecondary or skills-based learning environment. Proficiency with a variety of computer programs and systems, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, is essential. This position would be instructing 3rd Year Apprentice Welders one day per week. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in classroom and laboratory settings Organize and supervise practical assignments Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment Evaluate the learning process and provide meaningful feedback to students Respond to student issues Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement This position will specifically need to be able to provide lectures and demonstration labs to 3rd Year Apprentice Welders; Including: Theory of basic metallurgy and heat treatment of steel Destructive Testing theory and demonstrations (hardness testing, tensile testing, Charpy impact testing, creep and fatigue testing, etc.) Non-Destructive Testing theory and demonstrations (Radiography, Ultrasonic Testing, Liquid Penetrant Inspection and Magnetic Particle Inspection Skills & Abilities Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with diverse learners and colleagues A strong commitment to student success, including motivating learners and supporting academic achievement Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for instructional, advisory, and collaborative settings Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related educational technologies Technical ability to teach and demonstrate the topics above Qualifications Materials Engineering Degree or Materials Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent engineering/engineering technologist level program Minimum 5 years experience in related industries would be an asset CGSB or ASNT NDT certifications would be an asset Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
