Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Overview Join our team! The Grande Prairie Hospitals' Auxiliary Association is looking for friendly, reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team in the hospital gift shops. Our gift shops provides patients, visitors and hospital staff with a welcoming place to shop for food, gifts, flowers and cards. All of the money we earn in the gift shops remain in the community. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping journey Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for cash handling and transactions Assist customers with product inquiries Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract attention and promote featured items Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform basic math calculations with accuracy Support inventory management through stock replenishment and merchandising organization Ensure a clean, organized checkout area that adheres to company standards Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage with diverse customers in multiple languages if applicable Requirements Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential Strong organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods is an asset Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately Customer service orientation with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends as needed Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising practices, and retail sales techniques is beneficial Join us to be part of a lively team dedicated to delivering outstanding service while growing your skills in a fast-paced retail environment.
