Cashier

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and personable Cashier to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling all retail sales transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to upselling and product knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during customer transactions, including scanning items, processing payments, and issuing receipts Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, product demos, and guiding them through their purchase decisions Handle cash drawer management with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers at shift end, and reconciling sales totals Perform retail sales transactions efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and supporting store merchandising initiatives Conduct product demos when applicable to enhance customer engagement and promote sales Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities Maintain phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone Support inventory management by participating in stock replenishment activities Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment Skills: Proven experience operating POS systems and managing retail sales transactions Supervising experience in a retail setting is preferred Strong knowledge of cashiering procedures, cash register operations, and cash drawer handling Excellent communication skills in both bilingual (if applicable) and monolingual contexts Ability to perform basic math accurately for retail math calculations and transactions Experience with grocery store or retail environment is advantageous Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service best practices Ability to demonstrate products effectively through demos or explanations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and sales documentation If you are enthusiastic about delivering outstanding customer experiences while supporting retail operations through efficient cashiering and merchandising activities, we encourage you to apply today.
